Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) on Tuesday, June 8 World University Rankings 2022 announced. Among the top 200 institutions in this ranking are 3 Indian institutions of higher learning. IIT Mumbai (177th position), IIT Delhi (185th position) and IISC Bangalore (186th position and the world’s top research university) have retained their positions. No other Indian institution has made it into the top 200 institutions in the world since 2017.
The total number of Indian institutions of higher learning in the top 1000 of the world rankings has not changed this year either. There were a total of 20 Indian institutions in the 2018 rankings. 24 seats were created in 2019, 23 in 2020 and 21 in 2021. For 2022, 22 Indian institutions have been given a place.
Indian institutions like Jawaharlal Nehru University have been added to the list of top 1000 universities.
Global University Ranking In 2022, JNU with an engineering course became eligible for the rating. JNU is ranked among the institutes offering both UG and PG courses. The university is ranked in the 561-570 ranking band.
In the World University Rankings 2022, Delhi University (DU) got a place in the 501-510 ranking band. On the other hand, Banaras University (BHU), District Rural University (AMUU) and Amrita University did not get a place in the top 1000 this year. The ranking of these three organizations has come down from 801-1000 band to 1001-1200 band.
